Matt was in one of the first alien attacks on earth and lost his family in the process. He was one of the only people to survive. He then meet his Father's friend Oliver Carpenter who was a huge part of the XCOM project. After the war Oliver was a leader of the resistance and taught Matt how to fight. However days before XCOM the resistance base Matt was at they were attack and lost his father and scratched by a Chryssalid and then joined XCOM.
Also the reason why I have a load more posts then everyone else is because I'm moving my season 2 logs over here. This is because I have these characters in my logs which are set in the past and also I was doing this thing with Milky creating logs with each other in the same story but a different perceptive

My name is Matthew Hunter but you can call me "12thMatt". The war may have ended in 2016 but I am still fighting. I have been searching for people like me that believe that these "Advent" guys are just a bunch of fakes. Most of these past 5 years me and my father have been surviving after i lost my mother, brother and two sisters in one of the first attacks that hit the UK. 2 years ago my father introduced me to what he called "the resistances's secret weapon". However it was a man with the name Col. Oliver Carpenter. He was a major part of the XCOM project and was the leader of the whole resistance outposts in Europe and me close by his side. Oliver told me how to fight as he would sometime take me onto scavenging mission to get food, supplies and even weapons, and it was easier then i thought as a managed to get his personal shotgun he used back in the the days he was a proud member of XCOM, yet he is still proud to be apart of it. Oliver was not alone as he had his wife Moira and his cousin Olivia, who is the same age as me so you know what going to happen and i had a thing for her. Olivia would something show me the transmissions that Oliver did when he was in XCOM and that the main reason why i am doing my own. They may not be as exciting, or as jam packed with action, but it's just something to show my grandchildren when the war has come to an end. As i know it will. One day.

As the leader of the whole European resistance. Oliver has to travel the whole of Europe and it would take 5 months to see every resistance outpost because we can't use any mode of transport, as if you will be taken into the Advent if you register as a resistance member and who knows what will happen to you. Oliver said that he was going to go on one of these trips around Europe however he can't go alone, and as his previous security was injured on the latest scavenging mission he ask me personally to travel with him and another member of the resistance Mike "legend" Jones. I accepted his offer but I am going to miss my father as we have never been apart after the death of the rest of my family and Olivia who i love, as they can't come with us because it's too risky to travel in more then 3 people as you never will know what will happen. He said to start packing as we are leaving later that day.
I had this feeling that Oliver had put more faith in me about who I am to how much skill I have. He knows that I can fight as much as I know and it's pretty high. Oliver said his goodbyes to the whole of the resistance including Moira and Olivia, Mike said goodbye to his loved ones and I said goodbye to my father and gave him a hug, after him i went up to Olivia and she took my face and gave me a massive kiss on the lips and said "come home in one piece as I've got a present for you when you come back." I am glad that she felt the same way I did to her but i was even more relieved that Oliver didn't hit me in the head for kissing his cousin but replied "hay Matt, I knew you had feelings for her and vise-versa so i'm happy for you as I think your perfect for each other" after that he shook my hand and Oliver, Mike and I walked away, seeing how well the other resistance outposts are doing and the rest of the world.

Oliver, Mike and I have been on this trip for 12 days now, and we have just left the Irish resistance post and gotten past the British borders onto France. Oliver did say it was going to be hard to travel to all of the resistance posts but I didn't think it would be this hard. Mike said that there's a resistance post for every country in Europe, that's 50 other outposts we have to go to. I now feel sorry for Oliver as hes been doing this for 4 years now. 5 months trying to escape Advent though out Europe, and the other 7 months being paranoid about whether or not Advent will come after us in the UK. Being a leader is hard however Oliver said that I would be an amazing one, which worries the hell out of me. Mike agrees with him meaning that I would be good at it. He said that I am "someone who would put his own life at risk for someone else. Whether you know him or not, you will save their asses as you know that if they survive that day then they will pick themselves back up and will respect you for there on out."
One of the reasons why I agreed with Oliver to travel with him and Mike, was not because of the people. Not because of Advent. Not because I would be more respected to Oliver. But the reason was that I wanted to see the sites, I wanted to travel to world because mankind has created this world that we live in today and that we have lived though out history. What we have fought for. As we have not just survived but thrived in the world that I have known. But though out history mankind has been though some of the worst things. From wars across the world, to mother nature wiping out cities. Mankind has always prevailed, and mankind has always gotten back up of the ground. That's what we are going to do, I wish that we could be a bigger part of the war against Advent and that is what we are going to do. eventually...

Transmission 5th July 2020
Yesterday I was unable to record a transmission on the 4th of July. The reason being is that we have people from all around the world, from America to China they are all just wishing to find a place to keep their families safe from the aliens. As the war started 5 years ago with millions dead in the first month of the invasion so i'm glad that people don't trust these punks as much as i do. But back to the 4th July, as most of the resistance outpost in Poland is American they decided to have a celebration for independence day for America. What we had to do was help them savage food for 5 days so that they could have a massive feast for everyone in the community. We ate food till we couldn't eat any more, and people danced all night till the sun rose up again, well Oliver was dancing all the time but the only reason was because he was drunk the first time I have seen him with a smile on his face. However this put everyone the an amazing mood.
In the morning we had to get up on our feet as we had to move on out to Slovakia, I think. But it was important as we gave a transmission to the Slovakia resistance saying that we would be there in about a week. This doesn't mean we can just sit down for a day just talking so we needed to go. Right now the hardest part of this trip around Europe isn't always looking behind our backs 24/7 for any of advent, but it was trying to get Oliver out of bed with his hangover. It took Mike an hour to get him moving. He said pain in his voice "that was the hardest thing i have had to do in the past 5 years." The worst thing is I don't know whether or not he was telling the truth or not. We have to go from an amazing night and just forgetting that we are at a war the people don't even know about. Wish that was every night "sigh". They will know soon.

Transmission 1st August 2020
Today is a very special day for me. The reason is that first, it's my birthday and second, we have only a few resistance outposts left to see which will be on the way back to the UK resistance. Going from Russia, then Finland across those countries, afterwards a 2 week boat trip to Iceland and back to what I call home to see my father and Olivia. She said that she had a "present" for me when i came back, and I have an idea of what it would be. As it's my birthday Oliver and Mike said that I can just sit back and relax at the Russian resistance. I decided to just go a few miles out alone to see an amazing mountain formation. I might have been sitting down for 2 hours so I realized that I should get back to see the others. When I came back they all congratulated me and wished me a happy birthday. I got some presents from the resistance. Mike had gotten a couple of drinks for me (and for him) for the road ahead so that will be gone in a matter of days. Oliver had rapped up a huge box that was pretty heavy. and it was a rifle. In this whole trip it has just been Oliver with his shotgun, and Mike with his SMG to cover me mostly carrying the supplies. Now i can help them feel a little bit safer.
Later that night Oliver said with a grin on his face "How about we test out that new rifle out on some Advent scum." I replied with delight "I think you know the answer to that." Oliver had gathered some of the Russian resistances best as we were going to hit one of the supply trains that they really need. The plan was to go in with as little of them knowing, and then take as much of the supplies as we can. We headed out, 12 of the toughest guys we had all going to show Advent a piece of their minds. We slowly went from cart to cart sending a few of the guys to head back so we had some supplies secure. Just then a unexpected group of Advent 2 regular grunts and a captain who appeared out of no where. They killed some of our men the moment they saw us, we had to get out of there, it was too risky. I managed to killed the grunts single handily. With Oliver and Mike takeing down the captain. However the captain was able to call reinforcements, so we sprinted as far as our legs can carry us. I wouldn't say it was good as we lost 5 men for a few supplies which I don't think is worth it.

One. Just one country left to see and over all this trip has been pretty good. We may have seen some very interesting people and lost some others, I saw 5 of the Russian resistance best fall. I still look back on that and since then Oliver has been more careful. He has asked me to always look behind us very couple of minutes. Mike doesn't think that is necessary but I do. Every time we rest for the night we always have one of us on lookout to see if any per-trolls arrive out of on where. Since the train incident on my birthday we have change but for better. We have learned from our mistakes and bring no more then 6 people on these types of missions. Earlier today we left the Norway resistance and headed to that 2 week boat trip to Iceland. We meet a sailor who will be joining us on this part of our adventure called Captain Stevens with a sharpened sword in his left hand and a pistol in the right it didn't sound like a name for Norway but I think he said his grandfather was British.
He said that he has traveled the seas for 30 years even before the war. Now he is with the resistance helping smuggle food and supplies for other countries. I was amazed of his bravery he has done for the resistance and the world even before the war. I was even more interested at his stories he told us before we even arrived. He said that he was lost at sea with no one else and was all by himself for 82 days. Solo. I don't think anyone can do that and survive even Oliver. I don't even know if they were true at all, so Mike said "prove it" like how he always starts his bets with Oliver and I. And like Oliver and I captain Stevens accepted the bet and said "what will you give me if I win." Mike replied with the biggest smile I've ever seen on his face "I will give you this S.M.G i have got here. It has a modded stock and hair-trigger." He added onto that saying "And if I win I will take that sword you got on that wall." Stevens agreed to the bet and they firmly gripped their hands together. Stevens said "We are going to take a detour boys."

We have been sailing for 4 days now and we haven't even got a scratch into it. With Advent always searching the seas we have to go in a wired pattern that I can't even talk about as I can't start to describe it. However it will take longer as Mike doesn't think that Stevens is telling the truth so we are going to want I think is where captain Stevens would have been. As how else is he going to survive for 82 days, and guess what. I am right. He said that we were almost there to where he stayed for nearly 3 months.
We stop on a small island with palm trees and a waterfall riding the wind and also a little shelter around a put out fire with a man made house and a pretty comfortably hammock (which is amazing by the way). When we went to the shelter we saw some faded pictures of captain Stevens when he was younger and a women so he must have had been a wile he was here. He said "I have been looking for these picture for a long time". Oliver asked "who's the women." Stevens replied "That is, was my wife. See died late into the invasion and that is why I am helping you guys now because she would have liked that." Mike handed over the S.M.G like he promised and said "I'm sorry. I guess this is yours." "No" Stevens implied "I wasn't going to take that weapon of you anyway" I said to Stevens "should we set off" so that he could forget about his wife. He didn't answer and just walked to the boat.

Transmission 29th September 2020
After seeing the last resistance in Iceland it would mean that we would head to the British Resistance outpost so I can finally get to see my father and Olivia. Just a 5 day boat trip from Iceland to Britain and then having to go across to the center of England and Stevens offered us that trip back home. However Stevens wanted to tell me something before we leave. He wanted me to follow him and not tell Oliver or Mike about it. I thought that was a bit strange but I trusted him so I agreed. Stevens said "grab your gun as you never know if you are going to need it." I had this feeling that we were going into a war zone but just going to observe, as Stevens only brought his sword with him. I never noticed that his sword had a red mark on the edge of it, so I asked "why does it have that on it." He replied "Every day I clean and sharped my sword, it's the only protection I rely on. So I make sure that some blood is on my sword to show that I will need to use it, if I have to."
After a couple of hours Stevens and I stopped at this type of base. It looked like an Advent base, but it looked more heavily guarded then a regular base as we saw multiple per trolls. I asked Stevens "Why are you showing me this." He went silent for a bit and said "keep watching." Just then an Advent grunts head popped by some resistance members and a fight busted out. I said "Are we going to help them or not." Stevens stay still and quite. I wanted to help them so I was about to charge at the enemy. However Stevens stopped me and said "We are not here to fight but observe." Looking like the resistance fighters were winning wiping out all 3 per trolls the doors flew open and these spider like creatures swiftly flew across the field towards the resistance fighters. The closest one was grabbed by one of those creatures broke his neck and put him in a cocoon like substance. Moments later 3 more of those thing jumped out of him. I shockingly asked "What are those creatures" Stevens said "They are what we would call Chryssalids but much, much worst." We went back not with happiness, but in fear. Advent are worst then we thought

We are back. More then 5 months of lurking and sneaking from Advent worrying that they would be right behind us, but we're home to the people we care but the most. I saw my father first and gave him a massive hug as I did miss him. Oliver got to meet up with Moira and gave her the biggest kiss I have seen anyone have ever. He then hugged Olivia saying stuff to her that I couldn't make out. Mike found his family safe and sound. My father asked "how was the trip." I replied to him by saying "(sigh) if you asked me to do this again I would probably have to think about it for a week. There have been some amazing times and some horrible ones but it balances out in the end." He looked pleased for me too say that has I think he missed me more then ever. I told him what happened in Russia about me killing 2 of the Advent grunts and seeing 5 Russian resistance fighters dying in front of me. He looked shocked but not angry and said "Son that is what the world is now. It's a war zone out there."
Oliver and Olivia were still whispering to each other and looking at me half the time. At the end of their conversation Oliver I think nodded to her, after that she rushed over to me and gave me a kiss and saying "I love you." I replied "I loved you to." Later I asked her what Oliver and her were talking about. She said that it was about what happened to the resistance over the past 5 months and nothing about me, but I can already tell that she was lying to me but in a good why so they must have been saying good things about me. I realized that I didn't say goodbye to Stevens so I sprinted over to where he dropped us and shouted "Stevens!" He hear and stopped and said "what kid." "I never said goodbye to you and thank you for what you showed me" I said. He replied "It's fine and who's that blonde girl with you." Talking about Olivia I said "That's my girlfriend Olivia." He looked happy with my smile on his face and nodded to me. I nodded back to show I knew what he meant. He left with his boat so then Olivia and I walked away holding hands to have some alone time and to talk about what has happened when I have been gone.

Transmission 18th December 2022
It's been more then 2 years since my last transmission and that's because, well. I've been very busy. I have had a type of promotion as deputy leader all time and leader when Oliver goes on his all around Europe trips for 5 months. But that's not all Olivia and I have been together and been going on dates to show that we love each other. The dates aren't amazing and romantic like most dates but during a war it's the best I can do. I have further more been going out savaging, looking for presents to give to Olivia but only when I have had time and opportunities. Luckily a few weeks ago I was berrying corpses of some civs that Advent have killed for target practice and I found a diamond ring. Later that day I went to Oliver for his approval and he was delighted he said "Why has it taken is long for this to happen. Of course. Go to her right now." So I did and she said yes. I told her that we can have a wedding very soon and she said "As soon as possible."
So on the 18th December 2022 one of the biggest days of my life was about to happen. I am a groom. Waiting on the alleyway for my future bride. My father by my said. Mike is my best man. Stevens is the vicar (of course). And as the closest thing to a father Oliver walks with Olivia across the alleyway with Moira and Olivia's friends at the resistance as bridesmaids. Stevens has been practicing for this ever since I told him I was getting married. He said all the things the vicar said and I'm surprised that he did it amazingly. We did the hold "I do" thing but I don't want to get into detail has I think everyone knows what happens at a wedding. After that everyone went to the grand hall and Mike, Oliver and even my father said stories that people didn't know or that I regret doing for the rest of my life. It was all going so well, until a figure appeared though the doorway, but I couldn't make sight of who it was....

Transmission 18th December 2022 A lost link part 1
The mysterious figure raised his hands up and said "Don't shoot I'm here as a friend, not an enemy." This guy had a Brazilian accent meaning he had traveled far to where he is now. He concluded "I am here for a man called Oliver Carpenter. I believe he is the leader here." Mike went up to him and pushed him on the ground so that he could search him. "He's unarmed." Mike answered one of the questions we had for him. This could mean that he is a good guy or an Idiot. We then tied him up to one of the chairs. At this point most of the people have left the wedding celebration and just left was Oliver, Mike, Stevens, Olivia and I with a few other ruthless guys in our resistance. Olivier did most of the questions he first asked "Who are you?" The stranger replied "Don't you remember. My name is Luis "Milky" Otavio. I am the leader of a resistance outpost in Brazil and most of South America." The next question asked was "Why are you here?" Milky's reply was "I need help. People of my resistance are getting smaller in numbers and not because they are dying. But because they are missing."
I jumped out and said in shock "Missing. what do you mean by that." Milky answered "I'm surprised that you are not the same. Over the past two years people have been missing from our resistance camps over time and we don't know why." He concluded "There have also been more heavy Advent activity in our area also. I think there is a connection." Olivia stepped in and said "He's not wrong." Oliver shouted "What do you mean hes not wrong." Olivia explained "Back in 2020 when you three where on that 5 month trip around Europe. We were requesting resistance members we made contact with this group who said they would join and meet up in this old building out of the city." Oliver said "Then what happened." Olivia added "Nothing they never turned up and on of the group that collected them didn't see anything." Oliver turned to Milky and said "So what is your connection." Milky said "I think Advent are takeing people away and making these people join them. And I need as many of you to help me take these guys down." Oliver said "We'll send every able person to help you. It will be a long ride."

After what Milky said about Advent, Oliver Managed to message every resistance outpost about what Milky said. "They said they would bring every available resistance fighter for this war. Stevens said that he would give a ride to Brazil. I went over to Steven and said "What do you think about this war." He replied "This is the best shoot we have for bring Advent down as much as we can." Stevens was confident, but too confident for Stevens. Oliver came over and I asked "How many people do you think will come as Stevens boat can fit about 50 people." Oliver replied "I think that it will be enough people for 1 trip." We waited for people to turn up. And in time over 100 people arrived. Stevens said "We're going to need a bigger boat."
Stevens, Oliver, Milky, Mike, Olivia and I decided to have a meeting about what to do. Mike said "This is a lot of people for one trip." I replied "I know. Stevens is going to have to make 2 trips. Maybe another one if more people come." Oliver said "What we are going to do is take the best of these guy first. Then the rest come later to back them up." He added on "Mike, Matt. Your going to go with Milky and Stevens in the first trip. You two are my best soldiers." Oliver said "I coming with them." Everyone was shocked. I said "Are you sure about this." She replied "I'm not letting my husband have all the fun. Also you guys know I'm a good shoot." We all agreed Just then I released that Oliver didn't say what he was doing. So I asked "Oliver. What are you doing." He answered "I'm staying here to protect the camp. Someone has to." We understood and went out. A few days later we arrived at Brazil. It was amazing going somewhere I never had been to. Or so it seemed. Milky said "The fight may have already started. We need to move NOW!"

We ran as fast as we could. Milky lead the charge with Mike not so far behind. I saw a truck and ran to that to see if it would work, and it did. Olivia and a few guys followed me to the car and then leaped onto it. Managing to catch up with the leading group. I saw Mike on the way and had that smile that meant he was annoyed with me being in the car but knew I was able to do that type of thing. We were there at the battle field and it looked really bad. One of the soldiers shouted "Milky is back, and he brought back up, and a hell lot of it." They were happy to see us but who wouldn't if their home would be under attack.
Milky, Mike and I went close to the front lines sprinting over to the guy in charged. Milky went up to him and said "George, what has happen when I was gone." George answered "It's been hell, we thought they would attack on the 4th but they attacked on the 1st. We have had heavy losses and a couple of wounded." I quickly said "We brought some doctors with us if you could tell us a good place for them to work in." George replied "The objective is to protect the base so the best place would be the doooo-----cccckkkkk-----ss---ssss." A snake like creature grabbed George with its tongue and pulled him towards it. Milky shouted "George!!!!!" The snake grabbed him and wrapped around him. Milky then shouted "We need to keep fighting there will be more people coming to help in a few days, for George." Everyone shouted "For George." He must have meant something to these people.

Fighting. For who know how much longer. I think We have been on the battlefield for over 10 hours and its just morning. As much as I want to leave, but I need to stay for these people because no one else will. There are more wounded people then Milky was counting on so Olivia and I decided to take the wounded to our makeshift hospital. Something new to know, Olivia knows medical from Moria when I was on that 5 month trip. We found out that there are more wounded coming in everyday. However that is better then more dead people. I managed to talk to Olivia and asked "How you holding on?" She replied "I decided to come because I wanted to help people, if that's what your asking." Olivia knows me too well and that is why shes perfect. Moments later Milky kicked the door open and this woman followed him with a man on a bed. His head and torso are fine but his waist and legs weren't because he didn't have any.
The lower half of his body was missing and Olivia asked "What happened over here." rushing towards the legless man. The woman replied "He was fighting on the front lines with most of the men dead. He was hurt really bad and then a MEC mistook him as deceased and stood on his waist. The MEC noticed which made us menage to kill the thing." I said "Sorry who are you." Milky said "This is my wife." Milky's wife then said "And we need to have room to operate." Milky and I went outside of the room when all the medical personal were operating on him. Milky was really sad so I asked Milky "Do you know that guy?" He responded "Yes His name was Pepe, he was from Chile. and when he herd about this fight. He grouped up all his men to fight and was the reason why they were able to fight for the days we weren't there. We would all be dead because of him." I went up to Milky and said "That means hes stronger then the rest of us if hes able to bring all his men." Milkys wife came out of the door and nodded her head sideways. Milky kick down a bin and walked away.
