A lost link part 5
After the death of Pepe, it hit Milky and the rest of Pepe's men really hard. I told Milky for him and Pepe's men to get some rest for the day and to let the men that came with me to carry on the fight. Olivia told me that Milky had a 1 year old daughter. We don't know her name and we have never seen her. I was talking with some of Milky's top men called Gustavo and Caterina. Gustavo was more of a thinker then a fighter and Caterina was a strong woman, physically and mentally but no leader. I have this feeling that she use to be a XCOM soldier. After having light conversation Gustavo mentioned about a safe house that all the younger children are kept away for this war including Milky's daughter.
Just then frantic footsteps were rushing though the hallway across us. I was one of my men, Thomas. I said "Thomas, whats the matter?" He replied whist panting "Mike.... Come quick.... Needs every man possible." Caterina asked "Why, whats going on?" Thomas answered "Their making a push." We all sprinted towards the battlefield with Thomas falling behind. I shouted "Thomas you've ran a lot. Get some rest and try to get Milky and his people. They're not going to have a day off." Caterina, Gustavo and I ran to Mike holding his ground. He then saw us and said "Matt, did you get my message from Thomas?" I replied "Yes. Now tell me what has happened when I was gone." Mike answered "Since that death of that Pepe guy these Advent goons have had more balls then I've seen before. We've lost about 4 of our men and 7 of Milky's because of the rest of the guys are coping with their leaders death. We can't just let people stop because of one person's death no matter who they are." Mike then saw one of the MEC's fire off their micro missiles and Mike shouted "GET DOWN!" pushing me away from the blast. After that I was trying to see if Mike is OK. But I'm not sure...

A lost link part 6
"Mike!!!!!" I shouted. Just trying to get on my feet. Seeing if he's OK from the ashes and smoke. that reminded. "Arrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggg!" came from the rubble. It was Mike, But whats left of him. there is his flesh all around him with most of his face blown off. He says "Matt whats wrong. I can't feel my arms. Please tell me I have my arms." I replied "yes you have your arms, and your legs." Mike added "And my incredible good looks." I answered "Yes, of cross you'll never losses them." Even though he does have half of his face blown off. I said to him "Mike as much as you love it here on the battle field. We need to get you to medical." He said "Why. What has happened exactly." I answered him "Those missiles has blown off most of your flesh and we need to get you to medical." I then said "You should be fine" but I didn't know. I ordered Gustavo to help me carry Mike to medical. When I ordered Caterina to hold down the fought.
Gustavo and I carried Mike across the battle field. Just then Thomas ran in and saw us. He said "I have got Milky and his men... What has happened to Mike." I replied "A MEC shot some of their micro missiles at him." Thomas then asked "Do you need help getting him in." I answered. "Thomas as much as we need someone to open the doors but I've seen you shoot, and your really good. Go up that guard tower grab the sniper rifle and shoot every one of those deformed basters." Thomas nodded and did so. Behind Thomas was a hoard of Milky and his new men. I shouted "Everyone get to the battlefield, Advent are making a push and we need to counteract it." Milky stop to talk for a bit and said "Do you need help with him." Mike said "I'm .. fine" and then fainted I shouted "Mike" Gustavo said "He's just fainted, he has a pulse" I answered to Milky "yes but not from you." Milky asked "way is that?" I answered "These guys needed a leader to look up to on the battlefield. And with George and Pepe dead, and with Mike like this. It's only us two left until Stevens gets back. I'll just get one of these men to help me."

I have been awake all night to see of there is any news of Mike. But Olivia came out of the doors I asked "Is Mike OK?" Olivia answers "It may not look like Mike has suffered massively with his appearance." She stopped for a minute and carried on about to cry "However.... He has...... massive internal bleeding.... and we don't have the equipment for that type of injury.. So he won't make it for much longer." We both busted into tears, I said "We have got a lot of people in our resistance but if I had to chose a best friend. It had to be Mike." Olivia said "Mike doesn't have much time. I would say that he has a couple of hours left. So go to him." I walked into the room. And everyone else left the room so we could be alone.
Mike looked worst then he did the last time I saw him. I said "Hey mate. How you holding up?" Mike answered "I've had worst nights then this." Even on the edge of death he still has his humor. He said "Listen Matt. I know whats happening. Olivia told me. She told me that this was going to be my last hours." I said "Mike I know you're strong. I know you can last longer. You're stronger then all of us." He said "Even if I am the strongest man alive in history. No one will live through this." I replied "I know I just want there to be a chance that you will live. Even if it's just 1%." Mike replied "I would take that if it was 1%, but it is and hard cold 0.
(cough)(cough)." I asked Mike "Are you alright? Do you need anything?" "Just some water" Mike answered. I helped him drink from the glass of water on his desk. However there was a hole below Mikes Jaw so most of it spilled on the sheet. Mike said "That's good enough" I said "Well that's all there is." The room was silent and I said "Goodbye Mike." Mike said "Matt." I turned around and looked at him and he added "Just keep fighting." I replied "I will"

Word is out that the resistance has lost another of it's leaders. I went over to Milky and said "First George, then Pepe and now Mike. What do we do, it's only us two left." Milky said "Matt your sad, I know you are. But we need to have a fixed mind on this battle. Mike has died but it doesn't mean that the rest of us have." I asked Milky "How many people are left fighting for us?" He replied "If I am correct, about 120 of the remaining 200 of my men. Under 50 of Pepe's remaining men out of 80 and 30 out of your 50 men." I added "And 50 more will come with Stevens in 2 days time." Milky asked "do you think that we can hold them of. There are on average 500 of them coming in per day." I replied "I think we can. But I want to talk to all of them at once. They need someone lead them into battle at once and we could get the upper hand." Milky asked "How can we do that most of us will die before we leave the area." I answered "Don't worry, I know a guy."
Later that day everyone gather round when Advent were falling back for more ammo and supplies I stood up on a stage that the resistance has for entertainment. I said "Everyone, Many of you may not know me but I Matt that came from the Europe group. I am here to help people that I have never even meet before because Milky came to us for help for his people and he calls you guys like family. And speaking to as many of you guys as I can manage and I would call you brothers and sisters on the battlefield and having your back. We have suffered. We have bleed. We have lost, so many of us to these guys. George, Pepe, Mike and many, many more. For most of you, these people are the reason why you are here. Mike was an amazing friend and no one hated him. He would have your back when you needed it the most. He died saving my life. Pepe, I never managed to talk to him. But I have heard what his has done. He inspired all of his men to fight a battle for a man that they just meet. Only a few people in the world can do that. George. I only meet him briefly and died the moment My men came to join the fight. He lead over 200 men to fight by himself which no one else could do. We will remember them. We will reward them. We will fight for them!" Everyone else cheered and applauded my speech. Just then 5 jet came from the sky and blew up the Advent forces. My father said"Son did we make it in time." I replied "Right on the dot dad. Welcome to the fight."

A lost link part 9
My father radioed in saying "Matt, we are going to hit Advent where it hurts the most. We are going to do one bombing run there and back and the rest is your. When you move forward well do a second run." I replied "Over and out dad. This is helping us massively. Just do what you can." The 5 jets flew across the Advent battle field and blew all the Advent on the front lines. Suddenly a humongous machine came from one where and fired on one of the jets. The jet crash landed into one of the Advent trucks and a massive explosion was created. I asked "What the hell is that thing." Gustavo answered "It's a Sectopod and a bigger one to." Milky said "We need to take that thing down first." Gustavo said "I can hack that thing but I have to get close to it." I said "Here's the plan. Milky you take most of the men in the front lines to distract that thing and get Thomas on the sniper tower. Gustavo, Caterina, and I will take a few other guys to flank that thing making Gustavo hack the thing." Caterina asked "When do we attack." I replied "On that next bombing run. It will get most of the weak guys so we can focus fire."
The second bombing run flew past my head, watching bombs fall of the jets. My father said "Matt that is all we can do, sorry we can't do any more." I replied "It's fine but I have to tell you something." My father asked "What is it?" I said "Tell Oliver that Mike is dead." My father said "I'm sorry to hear that I'll let him know, and good luck." I replied "Thanks." Milky told all of the men to follow him to take down the Sectopod. When doing that I told Thomas to go on the sniper tower and take as many hits as you can. At the end of Milky's men I asked a couple of guys to follow me that I know they are Zoe, Sam, Harry and Joe. We headed into the shadows being unseen because of Milky leading a charge. I said "Guy this is risky bringing 7 of us into the Advent lines, but if we encounter a group then it's good to have the extra people. Harry said "lucky I have this grenade launcher." Gustavo said "OK this is close enough." Gustavo hit the hack Joe said "Whats the chance of hacking that thing?" Gustavo said "With Milky and his men doing about a 20% of the thing's amour. I would say 70%." Zoe said "So it might not work." Sam said "come on Zoe don't have that negativity." Just then Gustavo said "Guys RUN!!!" We ran realizing that the hack failed and the Sectopod is stronger

A lost link part 10
We ran as fast as we can. Zoe said to Sam "Come on Zoe don't have that negativity" Sam said "OK you were right and I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that." Zoe said "apology accepted" They both smiled at each other. I said "If you two have finished we need to run to Milky and tell him whats happening. Gustavo said "It's my fault" Caterina said "It's not your fault Gus, no one else would have done better." Gustavo had a reassuring look on his face Caterina added "Also you have never hacked that thing before." We managed to to run out of the Sectopods view. Joe said "What can we do to stop that thing." I said "Right now Milky and his men have dealt about 30% of the Sectopods health and we have gotten rid of it's armor." A radio transmission called in, it was my father. He said "Matt what Stevens is about 2 hours from where you are just hold the lines for a little bit longer." I replied "thanks dad. Anything else." He answered "Yes Oliver is on the boat and he's coming to you. How are you doing?" I replied "There's this Sectopod on the battle field and we're losing men fast. Do you have any ideas? He replied "What Oliver told me about those things is that even if they are really big, they are hard to hit so grenades are the best option also if you are a good shot then it's best if you hit then hit it."
I said to my father "Thanks dad that a really help." He answered "Your welcome Matt, also to of my guys had a few bomb left to spear so there coming back." I replied tell them to loop around so we can hear them coming so we can get away." My father said "Will do. Over and out." I said to the rest of the guys "We need to get to Milky. Harry how many grenades do you have in that launcher?" Harry replied "6 I fully loaded my grenade launcher before your speech." I asked everyone else "Does anyone else have grenades?" Caterina said "I have two." Zoe said "I know that the rest of use have 4." Gustavo said "I have none sorry." I replied "It's OK 12 is my lucky number." I added "here's the plan. Harry will fire his grenades at the Secotpod. Joe you will go with him and take the other 6 grenades to give to Harry. The rest of us will tell Milky what is happening." I told Milky what has happened and he told Me that he has many wounded men and wants me to take them to Olivia and his wife. And he told us to move them closer to the docks. Which is what we did.

A lost link part 11
I decided to leave Caterina and Gustavo to stay in the fight, and decided to take Zoe and Sam with me to move Olivia and the others at our make shift medical station to move them further away from the main resistance base. I talked to Sam and Zoe about my past with the resistance like how I got in. "Zoe asked "So did you always want to be a fighter?" I asked "What do you mean by that?" Zoe replied "Your know as a leader to these people and have also gotten one of the highest Advent kill count. I know that Sam and I haven't killed one of those things yet." I said "Yet. You will do if you want to." Sam asked "So did you?" I replied "Did you what?" Sam answered "Did you always want to fight." I answered the question "Well. I was only 15 when the aliens invaded so I never really got to chose what I wanted to be. But I was really good at maths and computers so I wanted to go into accounting." Zoe asked "Then what happened." I answered "Well most of my family died in one of the first attacks. Over the next few months the number of family member got less and less, until it was just my dad and I."
Sam asked "How did you get into the resistance?" I replied "My father knew Oliver how was in XCOM who tried to stop the aliens but failed. Oliver became the leader of the European resistance and the rest is history." Zoe said "This is it right." I replied "yep. Let's go." We entered the medical station and meet Olivia. Olivia said "How are you? Why are you here? What is happening?" I said that we needed to get everyone further away from the resistance base because there is a Sectopod. Olivia said in shock "Oliver mentioned one of them before. He said it was the scariest thing he has ever seen in his life." I asked Olivia how long it would get to get everyone out?" Zoe hit an alarm and said "Should be under 5 minutes." We managed to get everyone with everything important really quickly and went off. Milky's wife said "Where did Milky say we were going again?" I replied "The docks. My father said that Stevens will be here soon." Just then 2 jets came flying by one of them was hit by the Sectopod and went crashing down. With everyone distracted Advent troppers came out of the trees and surrounded us. Everyone who was able to held their gun at them Zoe went over to me and whispered "How many can you take before they can fire back?" I replied "3 maybe 4." Zoe said "Lets do it" I fired my rifle and it busted out.

A lost link part 12
There were bullets firing from everywhere. I managed to kill 3 of them before they could fire their weapons, but there were more of Advent then we thought. I wasn't able to see Olivia because of the amount of Advent we needed to fight back. I wanted to know if Olivia was OK so I turned around slightly and shouted "Olivia!" Just then an Advent trooper shoot at me and I fell onto the ground. I managed to kill that trooper. Olivia saw what had happen and shouted "Let me get Matt into the middle of the circle. He's hurt!" Olivia pulled me into the center whist managing to kill a few more of them with my pistol. I wanted someone to grab my rifle to fight which is what Sam did she said "Matt I got your gun we'll hold them off as much as we can." When Olivia was helping me many more people were getting hit and going down. Just then I saw an Advent captain aiming at me with his gun. Ready to fire. Just then a sword went through him and Stevens came from behind him. Stevens then cut 3 more troopers at once and that was when Oliver and the others joined the fight.
Oliver saw Olivia and I and shouted "Kill all of them!" which is what happened over 50 resistance fighters gunning down a hand full of Advent. Oliver and Stevens ran up to me Stevens said "Kid your alright." I replied in pain "I've been worst." Olivia said "He's hurt but not that much, if the trooper had hit more to the left then you would have lost a lung." I said "Oliver your needed (cough). There is a Sectopod (cough). Take all of your men to help." Oliver was in shock and did so. I saw Zoe crying at a body I went up to her with Stevens and Olivia's help. I realized in shock that Sam was that body. Zoe asked Olivia if she can help her Olivia said "I'm sorry Zoe." Zoe said "Please do something she's been my best friend for my whole life." The next day we herded that the battle had stopped and I saw Milky I asked "Did we win?" He replied "Just, but at what cost. Our base is completely destroyed and we now have no home" He said that both his wife and his daughter had died. I said your men can join our resistance if they want. Many of our people died. I asked Milky what he was going to do. He said that he was just going to go to North America and just go. He said that he knew a guy that would help him. I asked if he was going to go to the funeral for everyone. He said he would but he would go straight after. I said that 300 people died out of the 380 that fought in the battle I said that the funeral for Milky's men would be here and the rest would be their home countries.

We held a funeral for those we lost but only Milky's men. We're going to do 2 more funerals in Chile for Pepe and his men that have fallen and a funeral for the men that came with me in UK. Everyone was all crowed around each other holding them close accept for Milky who was all by himself. I went over to him asking if he's OK he didn't reply but I would have done the same. He lost his wife, his daughter and most of his men. We were at that part of the funeral when people would say a few words for the people. I said to Milky "This should be you speaking." He finally replied "Yes. Your right." Milky said that he would say the words for these people. He said "A few words aren't enough for all these people we have lost. Whether you have just meet some of these people on the battle field or for before the aliens invaded you have felt lose and you want them back. You would wish that you could change time to swap you life for there's but that can't happen. So we have to honor them as they would want you to. There have been so much death for what we have accomplished. These have been great people and we will have forget them."
Everyone was still sad for their loses but Milky went back to me and I said "well done that was a good speech." He replied "Thanks, but I'm not sure I can do another one after that." I asked him if he was still going to leave his people and just go away. He said that he was I then asked about his people and he said "Matt I want you to bring your people over to your resistance. There's not many left to stay in this one so it's for the best." He added "Just make Gustavo and Caterina to be higher ranking and help you. They are good people and everyone likes them." I said "I will. You know where to find us if you change your mind." Milky shook my hand and said goodbye. Oliver saw what happened and came over. He asked if we should get Milky but I told him to leave. Oliver asked how I was holding I said "better then before." I told Oliver about Mike and how he died saving my life. Oliver said that Mike would become a hero in the resistance eyes but so will everyone how had fallen. I also told Oliver that these people would be joining the European resistances with us. Oliver was pleased to hear that as he was going to ask Milky to join the resistance anyway. He said that we are going to go as soon as everyone is packed and we'll see everyone for home including My father and Moira.
