Logs for Mia "Frost" Liang. The Logs started on Commander Odd's second mission, and will always be 1 number behind the mission count.
Mia "Frost" Liang, Log #1:
I was dispatched on my first XCOM mission today. I was nervous, if I have to be honest. We had to hack some file from an ADVENT train which we assumed would be heavily guarded. We were not wrong.
We dealt with them quite swiftly, and overall the mission went well. I took a shot though, and doctors here at HQ seemed worried when they saw the wound. They haven't given me any estimated time of healing, but from their faces I can imagine it should be a while. This sucks, I wanted to prove myself here, seems like I failed.
Some colleagues are going out on another mission today, I can't join them, of course. Wishing them the best, I think I'll go see them out if the doctors allow it.
Mia "Frost" Liang, Log #2:
They boys came back safely from the mission; their objective was to save some guy from a prison, I hope it was worth it, I know how bad it can get out there. None of them were wounded, which I am glad for. But I can't help but wonder if I'm really needed here? They seem to be doing just fine without me...
On other news, ADVENT is raiding a resistance hold, XCOM is being sent in to save the civilians. Snake Eye is being sent in. He's a bit rough, but he's a nice guy, the talk we had last week really lifted my spirits, I hope he comes back safely. If the doctors allow it, I'll see the squad off and wish them good luck.
On a brighter side, it seems like a proper infirmary is being built as I write this, I'll have to thank the Commander for that. I'm not complaining about the care I'm being given, but I gotta say the barracks are not the best place to heal... I hope no one has to join me in the infirmary though.
Lastly, the wound seems to be healing well, but the doctors say it'll still be a while before I can finally go in.
Mia "Frost" Liang, Log #3:
The mission was a success; the resistance haven, while heavily damaged, still stand and more more importantly, the civilians are safe. Apparently some people from the resistance joined in the fray and they did quite well, it's good to know we're not alone out there.
Snakey told me all about the mission, it appears it was a tough one: waves and waves of reinforcements, it seemed endless! Pike and Keller were injured quite heavily. I wanted to mock them a bit as they have been doing with me, but the time didn't seem appropriate, they seemed to be hurting quite badly. I'll save it for later.
Biscamp came back unhurt. He'll probably take this opportunity to remind me "how it's done"! I swear I'll get back at him somehow! ... I'm glad he's back safe though...
On other news: the Guerrilla Tactics School is done, time to get some training on the rookies before having them take the field!
Mia "Frost" Liang, Log #4:
I got a few new friends at the infirmary! Or well... the barracks. But it'll be the infirmary soon, I hope. Apparently mission was pretty tough, got all the details from Yuri. Even after Snakey's warning about her clothes, she came back unscathed! Apparently she's just as good with a gun as she is in CQC.
Speaking of Snakey, he's going out on the next mission, they are raiding a train or something, I heard. Can't wait to go out with him and show him how it's done. Apparently we're short on specialists on XCOM? Maybe that's my chance to prove myself when I get fully healed.
Which brings me to my next point: I'm healing well, it'll be some time before I can go out again though, doctors told me something around 20 more days? It's quite a lot, but time flies in XCOM.
As is customary, I'll see the guys off and wish them good luck and whatnot. Although with Snake-Brain's record, it should go alright!
Mia "Frost" Liang, Log #5:
IT'S TIME FOR REVENGE! Snake-legs was wounded last mission. Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about it... But I WILL take this opportunity. Edwards was wounded as well, haven't seen him since he got back though.
As for the mission itself, apparently the squad ran into a nasty group of ADVENT. The commander seemed to be critical about his decisions in the field, attributing the fact that everyone came back alive as "luck". Now I don't believe in luck, but it must have been tough out there. I saw Snakey go out in the Skyranger with a shotgun on his back? I don't like that, I think rifles are just so much more... versatile.
With both of us wounded, maybe Snake-Mouth and I will get to finally go on a mission together when we both get back onto the field? One can wish. I'll throw him under the bus, at least get him mind controlled or something. I could get a good laugh out of that.
As for the immediate future, there appears to be a vulnerable VIP in a nearby city, an XCOM squad including Yuri is being deployed. Will go to see them off as is customary by now. I just hope someone will come to see ME off when I go on my next mission! Can't wait...
Mia "Frost" Liang, Log #6:
After something like 40 days, I am BACK! I've been back to training for a couple days now, looking forward to my next mission. Hopefully the commander will even remember I'm here...
Also, the Infirmary is FINALLY done. Gotta say healing in the barracks was a tough one, I heard Dr Wild is now in charge of the wounded. It should be much better and faster at this point.
Keller is going out in this next mission, gonna go see him off. Snakey may wanna come along, if he stops being a grumpy old man! Hope we can rock the next mission together. Word around says there is an important facility to raid sometime soon...
SOUNDS EXCITING!
